How many times a day do you feel like you have to hold it all together?
At work, you’re the leader who solves everyone’s problems. At home, you’re the glue that keeps everything running. You succeed in all the ways the world says you’re supposed to—and yet, sometimes, if you're really honest, you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, and wondering why it still doesn’t feel like enough.
You’re not alone. High-achieving women like us often carry the weight of perfectionism and pressure to perform on our shoulders. God, do I get this.
But here’s a truth that might surprise you: you don’t have to earn your worth.
You’re already enough.
The Question You’re Avoiding
What would happen if you let go of some of that pressure? Not everything—just one thing.
Would the world stop spinning?
Would your success disappear?
Would people think less of you?
Or… could you finally breathe?
Could you find the space to show up fully, without constantly editing or overthinking?
Could you give yourself the gift of simply being human?
A Simple Shift That Changes Everything
Here’s one practice to help you take the pressure off: Start naming your feelings instead of ignoring them. You know I love this practice!
When you feel frustrated because your team missed a deadline, say it out loud: “I’m frustrated right now.”
When you feel like you’re not doing enough at home, acknowledge it: “I’m feeling guilty.”
When you feel overwhelmed, pause and tell yourself: “This is overwhelm talking.”
Naming your emotions doesn’t fix everything, but it does create space. Space to be kind to yourself. Space to realize that you don’t have to react or fix everything immediately. Space to see that these emotions are fleeting—they don’t define you. Space to intentionally decide your next right action which will be more aligned and purposeful.
The Audacity to Be Full of Yourself
This is what being “full of yourself” really means: giving yourself permission to feel, to rest, to say no, to not have it all together all the time. It’s about putting yourself first and showing up as your whole, messy, beautiful self—not just the parts you think are acceptable.
You don’t have to carry all the pressure. You don’t have to shrink yourself to make everyone else comfortable. You’re allowed supposed to take up space. You’re allowed supposed to put yourself first.
So today, take one small step. Name what you’re feeling. Let go of something that’s weighing you down. And remember: you are enough, exactly as you are.
