At the beginning of your life, you were given a human to take care of for the rest of your life.
That human is you.
Watch this brilliant 40 second video to get clear about your most important job.
I've been watching it on repeat due to the music, the speaker's conviction and the sweet truth of the message. Thanks Di, for sending this to me.
If loving yourself isn't a feeling, but a job, on a scale of 1-10, how well are you doing your job?
It sounds easy to love yourself like it's your job, in theory. In practice, I've found it to be much harder.
Just today, a beautiful client said, "It's hard for me to follow what feels good. I'd much rather be practical because it's safe and easier. But, I end up robbing myself of inspiration and a whole bunch experiences because I'm not sure if I can be successful at them."
Here's the rub. This client would tell me that she loves herself. I have no doubt that she does.
She is attuned enough to know that she wants more; she wants to drop some of her practical nature in favor of living with more freedom; to do work that is more aligned with her talents even though she already loves what she does; to take her work less seriously so she doesn't feel as burned out; to feel braver; to feel like a "force of nature."
Loving yourself and wanting more can co-exist. The gap between the two is where I come in. My client continues to invest in coaching because she values the SELF- exploration and is delighted by who she is becoming.
I've supported hundreds of women around the world to feel lit up by who they are and the audacious inner work of loving themselves like it's their job.
The best way I can support you to do the same is through a free coaching session. If you put a lot of pressure on yourself to perform and you're a go, go, go kinda gal, but you'd much rather feel good so you can have your success cake, eat it AND savor it, schedule a session with me.
In short, loving yourself isn't just a feeling; it's an ongoing commitment to nurturing your growth, desires and well-being especially when it's hard. As your coach, I will help you to bridge the gap between self-love and personal growth.
Here's to loving yourself like it's your job.
